LEAN Approaches to Help State Environmental Agencies Improve Operations
February 24, 2011
10:00-12:00

LEAN is a methodology that focuses on increasing efficiency, decreasing waste, and using empirical methods to decide what matters, rather than uncritically accepting pre-existing ideas. LEAN approaches use tools that optimize work flow. This Webinar will introduce participants to the basics of LEAN and how CT DEEP and RI DEM have successfully used LEAN methods to improve various permitting, enforcement, regulatory development, outreach, and other activities.

Speakers:

David Chopy, RI DEM
Introduction to LEAN [PDF]

Kim Hudak, CT DEEP
Connecticut DEEP Uses LEAN & Gets Impressive Results [PDF]
